I don't do these often and I always get annoyed at myself, because there are so many things that I truly love throughout the months, and should be sharinh to engage with others. While I do tend to share the music and podcasts I love, there are always misc things, and beauty products, and new activities and hobbies that I should be sharing. By sharing, I'm giving you all a reason to check it out. To support it, and to invest in it. Although we all have different tastes, I truly believe that some things, everyone can agree on, and that's what I try to feature and showcase on my favorites.
With every new and full moon each month, I discover new things I find myself fascinated with. New hobbies and interests that gravitate towards me and bring me on this ride of self discovery. Along the way, I am blessed to have things that truly speak to me and what I am going through at the moment. That's how life has always been, but it wasn't until I became extremely spiritual in the past couple years, that I have really grown to understand and acknowledge this.
While I will say some of the things I mention here aren't for everyone, take it all with a grain of salt. While you may not believe in some things, you may just not be educated in the topic, thus creating a sense of it being unnecessary. Or, you could just be completely against some things, and that's totally fine. But try to open up a bit spiritually and educate yourself on some new experiences. With all that said, let's get started.
Crysyals - I mentioned in my last What I've Been Loving post, that I bought Crsystals For Healing. Well, thanks to this book, I have continuously educated myself on crystal upon crystal. The information on chakras, and the healing properties of crystals, depending on what you are going through and needing it for, has been extremely therapeutic and emotional. I know a lot of people don't believe in the healing properties of crystals, but I have seen a significant change since collecting them in 2016. My favorites are clear and smoky quartz. I'll be writing a blog post about crystals in the near future, stay tuned. Plus, they're super fun to play with when taking photos (as props, on their own, or through a prismatic lens)!
Sun Bathing - Now, many of you will be confused on why this is on the spiritual category, but what many don't know or understand, is that meditation is different for everyone. While I do have other ways of meditating, I find myself sitting outside, bathing in the suns glory, allowing myself to just be present. Be thankful. I find that we take so much for granted in our lives, and to be able to have the ability to sit outside, by choice, and enjoy the hot summer rays, is something to be thankful for. Whether I'm reading, looking through social media, or catching up on videos, this is MY time.
29 Rooms - I know that this one may sound like it’s been randomly placed in this category, but I went because of The Hoodwitch, who is mentioned below as another favorite. Upon going, I was actually surprised at how amazing the whole thing was. The premise is that there are 29 rooms, all different and magical in their own way. Besides the one from The Hoodwitch, most of them were fun photo ops. But my favorites that we stumbled upon were 29 Questions, in which you spoke to a stranger and asked them questions. Another one was Inner Child, in which you wrote yourself a note for when you were younger. If you have the chance to go, ABSOLUTELY do it! I’ll be back next year, no doubt.
@thehoodwitch - If you don't already follow this account, stop reading this right now and go follow her! Not only is she a badass witch, she shares witch tips, horoscopes and spiritual guidance all throughout her posts, and website. She also sells crystals, cleansing bundles, tarot cards, and she had awesome pins that I'm really bummed out I missed out on. She has exclusive events in the city, with some more bad ass witchy and spiritual woman, and I just want to be invited one day. A girl can dream. If you're looking to integrate 'me' time, with anything spiritual, look to her and her blog for the support and guidance.
@tatiannatarot - Tatiana Tarot is one of the most down to earth Spiritual Consultants I've encountered on IG thus far. She's a Teacher & Energetic Healer through Heart Space Meditation, Crystal Healing & Tarot Reading. And she shares and showcases daily readings on her IG. I don't often have the time to do a tarot card pull daily, and this is a great way to go about it. Especially when she really delves deep into the meaning of the cards and how they can apply to you independently. She's in NOLA, and if I ever go there, you better believe I'm seeing her. She was in NY not too long about and I was hoping to go to her events, because her aura is calling to me.
@everyday_magic - I was skeptical about sharing this account because I already struggle with buying during the live sales, but honestly, I can't keep this account, the owner, the staff, and the crystals from you all. If you're looking for the most polished, magical, and rainbow filled crystals, this is the shop RIGHT HERE! During the lives, Bakara explains the benefits, the properties and the specialties of each crystal she's featuring and sharing. Making the live buying experience, as if you're just hanging out with another crystal loving best friend. PLUS - she's super obsessed with Harry Potter and makes a ton of references during the live. I also LOVE Christian, and want to just hang out with them all.
Charmed - This was one of my favorite shows growing up and I find it so serendipitous that I started watching it again, as I gain a real spiritual awakening. I have always resonated with Phoebe (not just because I look like Alyssa Milano), because she's smart, she wants to learn all about her powers, magic, and how she can become a better person, knowing she can be a role model to herself. It's just amazing to see all these female badass characters in one show, along with magic, crystals, potions, the supernatural....all of it. This show is 10000% me, and I'm so happy I started watching it again. And now as an adult, I appreciate Paige so much, she is truly passionate about her witchcraft, and totally engulfs herself into it, when Paige looses track of who she really is.
Younger - I've been obsessed with this show since it first premiered. I knew I was going to love it for the simple fact that it has to do with books, and a publishing company. I was extremely obsessed with the library and wanted to work for a publishing company for a really long time. It's still my dream to write a book, but alas. This show is one of the best out there, and it's way too underrated and short. The episodes are only 30 minutes, the season JUST ended and I am still #TeamJosh. I don't care what anyone says, I will argue with you on Twitter. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, but if you like drama, love, and lots of really good looking people, highly recommend.
Riverdale - I'm actually surprised I hadn't mentioned this one prior, but I LOVE this show so much and I hate how addictive it is. It's overly dramatized, most of the story line is ridiculous, and no one dresses like that in high school, but I digress. There's a lot of mysteries to be solved, a lot of love triangles, a lot of different ethnic backgrounds, and sexual preferences, and over all, a pretty good looking cast. For one, can we talk about Chris Ulrich from The Craft/Scream. I love Betty so much, and love how her character grows each season. Binge the show, but be prepared to love hate it. Can't wait for it to come back soon.
S.W. Basics Oil Serum - If there was ever an oil I would recommend every single person try, it's this one right here. I have recommended it time and time again and have used it for years. It's my holy grail, and I always go back to it. I've been through 3 bottles already, and will continue to buy it and have it on rotation with my others. It just provides so must hydration, don't feel oily or greasy and works so well under makeup. Plus, I love the smell and the ingredients in this are unlike any other oil I've used. It's simple, it's clean, and it's freaking amazing. If you are in the market for an oil, GET THIS RIGHT NOW! Use my discount code CGMG for a surprise discount!
Apoterra Neroli Toner - I've mentioned this toner in an empties post before, and probably on YouTube, but during the summer, I use this a lot when I'm working out, and during that time of the month. While I do use this in the winter on my face, gearing up to my period, during the summer it's the perfect acne toner. I use it on my body, mostly my back, because when I work out, my pores get clogged and I break out. So if you go through that as well, I highly recommend this. Also, preparing for my period, I like using this to prevent any pimples.
Seed Phytonutrients Gentle Facial Cleanser - This was such a surprising item for me. I received a couple of samples from the company a couple months ago, and slowly integrated them into my routine. Not only did the sample last forever (I'm still not done), but the product itself isn't stripping and worked on my winter and summer skin so far. It smells clean and fresh, removes makeup from the face, and really makes my face feel clean and refreshed. I was scared that trying something new would irritate or make me break out, but honestly, I notice a difference when I DON'T use this. Order through my Thrive Market link, and get 25% off your first purchase.
Erin's Faces Clarifying Green Clay Mask - When I went to interview Erin for her Meet The Maker feature, she gifted me a bunch of goodies. I immediately knew I'd love the face mask, and I was not wrong about it. I'm a huge lover of clay masks, but they are often extremely stripping. Not only is this one vegan, but it seriously feels like you had powder clay mask, with a bunch of honey on your face. After you rinse off the mask, you don't even want to put lotion or serum on, because your skin is so baby smooth and supple. I actually love this mask so much, I tend to use it once or twice a week. I highly highly recommend!
The Life-Changing Magic Of Tidying Up - While I've owned this book for years, I actually never read it. I know, I know...what was I thinking. Well, I finally read it in June, and I can say that I totally get it. While there were a bunch of things that I already knew and incorporated, it was interesting to read different ways to go about really de-cluttering. I also really loved that she speaks about how even if your house is clean, and you declutter all the time, there could still be something in your surroundings that is messing it all up. If you struggle with having too much stuff, you MUST read this book. We often hold on to things, when their purpose has already been achieved.
The Bell Jar - I’ve had this book for YEARS! I tried to read it every summer, and every summer, I never finished it. That was, until this summer. I know this book is well loved and at first, I didn’t get it, but while I kept reading, and it takes a huge turn with the character, I realize why. As someone who grew up with depression, and had suicidal thoughts, I resonate with the character so hard. Which is why I can imagine so many people loved the book. It’s not a fairy tale, it’s not romantic, it’s honest, and realistic and tells the story of someone who’s struggling to understand what’s wrong with her. Pretty much most of my life right there. Highly recommend.
Nylon X Camila Mendes - While I don't read Nylon like I used to, I still often find myself reading articles when they're about people I'm interested in. This one is one of those, considering it's one of the female leads of Riverdale. While I'm not a fan of the character Veronica, I am a fan of Camila as an actress. I think she plays the character extremely well, given she's actually the opposite of what she portrays. This interview was really well written and I enjoyed getting to know Camila Mendes on a different level. Reading about what shows she grew up watching, how she struggled with an eating disorder and how she stumbled upon this career, is pretty interesting.
Saved the best for last, because if you've read my entire post, you deserve to know this is WORTH WATCHING! I know, I know...it's a teen movie, about a girl and a boy, yada yada yada, but trust me! If you're someone who LOVES John Hughes (Pretty In Pink and Sixteen Candles) movies, and you were a sucker for She's All That, you're going to love this movie. I loved it so much, I've watched it twice now. Yup. It's cute, it's quirky, Laura Jeans style is epic and my goodness is Peter a stud! I do remember him from The Fosters when my sister watched, but my my my how he's grown. Anyways, highly recommend, it's a good one and now I want to read the books. Hopefully they come out with a sequel for this.
Are you a fan of Groundhog Day or one of the best movies ever, Big? Then you’re in luck, because this is basically it’s love child. It’s funny, it’s cute, there isn’t anything boring about it, and Adam Devine isn’t the same annoying character he is in every movie. No spoilers, but I like how the movie revolves around what’s meant to be, will be, no matter how hard you try to change things. Not everything you want, is what you truly want. This movie totally emphasizes on that, and it makes you truly appreciate all the things that brought you to where you are. I know, sounds cheesy, and yes, the movie is a bit cheesy, but it’s worth watching. Let me know if you’ve seen it!
