You guys should have expected I'd be writing a post about this, after it being mentioned on my 2016 favorites, and never being talked about prior. The reason behind that is simple, I only got it in November, and had other posts planned. But with the new year, and my lack of posts lately, I wanted to finally talk about this set and the scents in general.
Now, I was introduced to Pinrose through Rhian HY of WifeLife. If you don't follow her, she's an awesome cruelty free/vegan blogger and vlogger. I linked her YouTube channel, so you can check her out. Well...I contemplated the try on wipes she featured a while back, but told myself I didn't need it because I have so many Harvey Prince perfumes, and didn't need any new ones. Well then, Andy Peachy posted that she THIS set and I just kept getting slapped in the face with it. SO, after getting my $20 discount coupon from Sephora and getting another $10 giftcard, I figured $30 for this set was too good to pass up.
It had been mentioned that not only were these good on their own, but they worked well TOGETHER, to make little concoctions. At first I was confused by that, and was hesitant, but boy did that change the first time I tried it. When I got the set, I smelled each one individually and made my bf smell them as well, as he has a sensitivity to perfumes/smells, and I wanted his honest opinion. He actually liked a good majority of them, and didn't find them strong. His favorite, and mine as well, is Gilded Fox.
I mentioned my concoctions on my favorites post, but I'm going to share them here as well. The first time I attempted it, I did Secret Genius and Gilded Fox, because I thought the two warm scents would go really well together. They definitely did, as it was a mix of buttered rum, vanilla and cocoa, so sweet and cozy. I did Merry Maker and Pinrose together another time and it was absolutely SEXY! Yes, I said sexy. the smell of the nectarine with rose and leather worked so exoticly well together. Lastly, Tambourine Dreams and Cuddle Punk was absolutely ggiiirrlyyy as hell. And this one, my boyfriend complimented me and said I smelled really good, which he rarely does. So this is definitely a winning combo.
I am absolutely loving the scents on their own, and can't wait to keep mixing them up and creating new scents. It's actually really fun and I can't believe I never thought to actually do that. With that said, I think the reason I never thought about it, is because I've been heavily getting rollerballs, as that seems to be what's available for smaller sizes. When I used to use the sprays (like Harvey Prince), I would spray one scents and then wear the same hoodie the next day and spray another, and it'd smell amazing. So I get where the concoction idea comes from, but I do wish more brands, like Pinrose, would put these in spray bottles instead.
Regardless of that, I love the scents so so so much, and for a brand to be vegan and cruelty free, and not be overwhelming with their scents, I think this is absolutely a win. I am planning on getting a full size bottle, and I think it's reasonably priced. Especially the set.
If you end up ordering the set from Sephora or a single full size bottle, don't forget to use EBATES, as you get money back on purchases through a good majority of sites. I got so many people into this and have already made $150 dollars back, within the last year. My link will get you $10 automatically once you make your first purchase using it. Lastly, with my Pinrose link, you will also get $10 to spend on your first purchase of $20 or more!
Have you tried these before? If so, what are your favorite scents?
And if you haven't, but you plan to, what are you getting?
