We have all been there.....we wait until the VERY LAST MINUTE to make a purchase, or to finally buy something for our significant other either for their birthday, Christmas, or for instance, Valentine's Day. But do not fear, Melissa is here to help you!
I'm not someone who really celebrates the holiday, but I do love giving and receiving gifts. I'm also a fan of sales and discounts, and so many brands offer that, the week of. SSSOOO, what I'm saying here is that you can justify your gift being 'late' because you in turn, save money to buy MORE things. You see what I did there? You're welcome.
Recently I started a FB group (I know, finally...YouTube is the last missing piece, soon...maybe), and shared a couple of discounts and coupons, and figured I share them here as well, as well as gift ideas for your special someone. Whether you are gay, straight, black, white, ethnic, alien....you'll find something among this list of things, to either buy for YOURSELF (because, treat yo'self), or for your partner!
Let's get starteeeddd.
One of my favorite brands lately, Franklin & Whitman*, has both male and female orientated items. If you aren't into skincare, you totally should be. I started late, but with enough time to change the route my skin was going towards. I'm trying to get my bf into skincare as well, but he's more into beard oil and balm....WHICH, Frank & Whit also has. So it's a win win. With any purchase from this brand, they donate 5% to Dog Rescue missions. I mean, could the company be any more perfect?
Another thing you can get a significant other or partner, are bath products. Now, I'm a huge bath person....and I'm an even bigger fan of bath bombs. I know that not every person loves them, but me personally, I could just sit in a nice hot bath all day. With that said, if you aren't a bath person, handmade soaps are another way to go! Ever since going to handmade soaps, my skin has never felt smoother and moisturized. Favorite bath bomb brands; LUSH, Whipped Up Wonderful, Witch Baby, and Loquita Bath & Body. For soaps, my favorites are; Tarabusi Creek, Wild Rituals Soap Company, Apoterra Skincare.
If you read my Jord Wood Watches post, you know I am OBSESSED with my watch, and not only am I in love with it, my bf really loves it as well. Which brings me to v-day 2013, I bought Chris a sleek black Nixon watch. One of my favorite gifts I've ever given him. In return, for Christmas that year, he gave me an aperture watch. Have you gotten the hint yet? Watches are a great gift.
Not all women are the same, but a good handful of them do love and want some awesome makeup. Everyone is different, and what one person likes, the other may not like, but here are some simple and friendly suggestions, from someone who knows a thing or two. Let's start with liquid lipsticks, I have been LOVING the Fairy Girl liquid lipsticks so much. I have swatched a bunch on my IG and I'll be posting a review soon, but spoiler, worth the money. By using my link, you get $10 off a $30 order, plus they have a points system that accumulates to money.
Another great beauty product is palettes, we all love and use them, but lately I've been steering into the more natural route, and into palettes that have it all. The Pretty Naked palette from 100% Pure* has actually been on my wishlist for some time now, but I just haven't gotten it yet, because I'm trying to go through all my makeup first. With that said it has the perfect neutral shadows for beginners, a highlighter and blush, within the palette. It's all in one.
Before you put on that palette and gorgeous liquid lipstick, make sure your skin is clean and looking clear. I know that skincare is a hot topic lately, and with so many 'natural' brands stating that their ingredients are better, you don't know who to trust. I am due to post a skincare routine post, but in the mean time, I can't recommend Osea* enough. I can imagine you guys are sick of my talking about it. But seriously, I LOVE this brand so much. And if your significant isn't into makeup at all, treat them to amazing skincare products.
I feel like I'm neglecting males, even though the first 3 items were unisex, but let's talk about it. Guys, at least most that I know, don't really care about the products they use, and a majority of the time, just use whatever their significant buys or gifts. Because of that, this is the perfect opportunity to shift them into the right direction. Recently, my bf got extremely into my Ellovi vanilla lip butter! I honestly love the chapsticks, and want the mint chocolate, but if you are someone who is constantly putting chapstick on, without seeing results, get this one. They store has 25% off right now with code: VDAYLOVE
My last recommendation is a book. You're probably thinking to yourself, 'what, people still read actual physical books?' and the answer is yes. Well, at least I do. BUt nonetheless, books are a great gift to give within any occasion and are unisex. The best way to impress someone with a book is by buying something that they've mentioned, or a book by a writer they have liked before. While on the topic, have a Barnes & Noble date.
There you have it, my last minute v-day recommendations! I tried to keep it as unisex as possible, but of course I had to add makeup in there.
Also, since it's last minute...if you don't want to make a purchase online, you could always physically go to stores like Sephora, Ulta, Target...etc. Or shop small and find local makers/shops.
If you do choose to buy online, don't forget to use EBATES, today only, they have 14% cashback on about 200 stores. Use my link to get $10 automatically for signing up.
