When I first got into the indie world, I was introduced to mani bombs. Now, prior to Forever Polished, I had NEVER tried a mani bomb before. Maybe because of this, I'm super attached to this brand, or maybe, it's because it's that good...but regardless, I'm addicted.
My collection was 3 times the size of this, because Ashley went on maternity leave and I was scared I wouldn't have enough stock. Let's just say, I think I bought enough.
Without further ado....let's get to know Ashley of Forever Polished.
I'm Ashley, the owner of Forever Polished. I am a Mom of 3 little boys. No, I do not plan on trying for a girl. Lol (I get asked that a lot.) I live in Las Vegas, NV, grew up in Colorado & born in California. I am very shy but love to joke around!!
How did mani bomb making come about?
My mother had been making soaps and such for a few years and I would take bath bombs from her all the time. I love to soak in the tub. At that time FP was just polish, but I wanted to add to the shop. I was up pretty late one night and I had an idea of making a tiny bath bomb after seeing my moms scraps of bath bombs. I called her at like 2 am and asked if she would help me. Of course she did.
You make some crazy smells and designs, which ones have been your favorite?
My favorite smell is SPRING JAM! It is just so fresh and fun. I also love the look of it but my favorite design is by far the S'more from last November. I took a lot of time planing and making it. It took me 8 whole weeks to get all the batches down before I was ready for the final product.
You just had a baby, how is motherhood treating you? Any tips for future moms?
Being a mom is by far my favorite thing in the world. I never thought I would add another baby to our family but I am very happy I did.
My advice is to enjoy every second, the late nights, & the days that feel like they will never end, because the time flies by so fast and then your baby is grown.
What has been your favorite moment with your newborn thus far?
I think it has to be seeing my older boys with him. When I had my other two, they we born close together and it was very hard. Now they are a lot older and they love helping. Second place would have to be the nursing, I love the bond you get from it.
Share an item that means a lot to you and how that came about?
This is tough...I do have a blanket from when I was a little girl, it was my baby brothers, he past away at only a few weeks old. I never got to meet him, so I always kept it.
What are your favorite TV shows and if you don't watch TV, favorite movie of all time?
Dr. Who, Supernatural, Fringe, & Game of Thrones, are all in my number 1 spot.
What are some indie and Etsy shops you support?
Illicitly Illyrian, Chaos & Crocodiles, & CDB Lacquer are some of my favorite polish makers. I love Missouri River Soaps, Rose Girls, & Alamo Candelaria for soap & wax melts.
What are 3 words people would use to describe you?
Shy, loving, & insightful.
What are some things currently on your wish list?
I've been out of the loop with the polish world for a little while, so I don't know of any polish right now. But I am wishing for a mini van LOL!!!!!
Lastly, favorite book and why?
This is SO hard! I love reading. I have a favorite series by indie author Rachael Higginson called, The Star Crossed Series! I even made a polish collection for it once upon a time!!!! If any one remembers Blue Smoke that was one from the collection.
So there you have it, Ashley in a nut shell! I have gotten a lot of people into this brand, and into mani bombs in general. I miss Ashley's creations, and anticipate the day she comes back.
