It seems that Pearlesque Box has a thing for brands that start with the letter O and have only a couple letters in their name. Or maybe I just overthink everything. May's box had 3 full size items, from the brand Odeia, totalling $84.50 for an eye cream, deodorant and a body lotion. Odeia is a Greek brand that is all natural, tested on volunteers and full of vegan ingredients. Right up my alley. It also came with a Pearlesque Box makeup holder bag that costs $17.50, with 20% of the proceeds going to Freeset Trust (click to find out more information).
So let's discuss the items and my thoughts so far.
First and foremost, I absolutely LOVE the bag and the meaning that comes with it. If you click the link above, you find out more information about the organization, but let me just say that giving ladies that have been ripped their freedom, this chance, warms my heart. I often feel like I am helpless with certain situations, but when I can help, I do. With this bag, I know I helped someone, somehow, and that's more than others can say.
The body milk conditioner has been the only item I have actually used so far, and I'll explain why when I get there. For now, let's talk about how AMAZING this lotion is. WOW! I was a HUGE fan of The Body Shop lotions, and still have a bunch. But since receiving this, I can't stop using it over all my other lotions. It's very liquidy, not like your typical lotion, but it seriously melts into the skin. It's not greasy, but it moisturizes my skin like crazy. I am actually taking a break from using it, because I don't want it to end. This is definitely a winner for me.
The deodorant hasn't been used yet, because I want to finish my current deodorant. I want to make sure that when I DO use this product, I am giving it a fair chance, and I'm not mixing it with another product. I also want to save it for when I go to Firefly Music Festival because I rather a liquid than a deodorant that could possibly melt in the heat. I'll report back on this item, when I have a fair review.
Same applies to the eye cream. The reason I haven't used it, is because I am finishing up my Acure Organics eye cream. It is ALMOST done, so this was perfect timing. I was going to just re-buy the Acure one, but I am always looking for new eye creams to help with my dark circles and the line I have from smiling so much. I'm hoping it helps with the line under my eyes...the Acure one didn't do anything to that, and stopped eliminating the dark circles. Keep your fingers crossed this one works wonders for me.
And there you have it....my non existent review, because I haven't tried all the products yet. But I wanted to share what I got this month and my thoughts thus far.
Next months box has been shared already, and I'm excited to receive the bug repellent because I get chewed up in the summer.
If you're interested in getting this monthly subscription, I highly recommend it. You get your money's worth, you don't get the same repeated items, and you try brands from all over the world every month. I think it's a great way to experiment with skincare and body care, while being natural and non hazardous to the animals.
