When I first went cruelty free, her website was my main source of education and it has made Tashina my role model. She invests so much time communicating with brands, readers and still maintains a full time job, along with creating videos for her YouTube channel. So how the hell did she manage to create amazing crystal necklaces? We're about to find out!
Please help me in welcoming Tashina of Lightworker Crystals, on the site today.
How do you feel about being one of the most trusted people in the cruelty free community?
It's really flattering! Considering that most of my research was done just to answer my own questions, it's been so amazing to see more and more people referencing myself and Logical Harmony. It's amazing to know that so many others have had those same questions and thoughts and that I've been able to help make the process easier for people. It's also a bit of a shock. I'm always surprised when I see people I don't know personally talk about me or Logical Harmony.
With that said, what made you start Logical Harmony and help the cruelty free movement as much as you do?
I wanted to know more so that I could make better decisions. When I first switched to using cruelty-free and vegan cosmetics, there weren't many resources out there. I remember reading that a specific brand was cruelty-free and everything was vegan. So I went out and bought a lot of products from them, then got home and realized half of their products had carmine or beeswax. I was so frustrated and it made the transition to cruelty-free and vegan products seem impossible. So I started to research on my own, ask my own questions, and really try to figure out how to make the process easier. It started as a personal journey and ended up with me wanting to help everyone transition to cruelty-free easier.
What inspires you on a daily basis?
So many things! All the supportive comments and emails I get are a huge factor. Hearing that what I do is helping others is just incredible. And Justin is always great at reminding me of how far Logical Harmony has come.
Speaking of inspiration, how did Lightworker Crystal's come about?
I've been into crystals for so much of my life, but have always kept that interest pretty reserved. Once I met others who were also interested in crystals, it made me want to share my love of them. I picked jewelry at the start because that is where I felt there was a need in the space. I've had a hard time finding crystal jewelry that I truly loved and connected with, so I decided to make my own. As it's grown, I've added in regular crystals as well because I love helping others heal themselves through the use of crystals.
Have you ever thought about talking more and educating people on crystals through your site and YouTube channel?
I go back and forth on this one. It's a part of my life that I know a lot of people are interested in, but just as many are not interested at all. I get a lot of requests for basic crystal videos, and that is something I am interested in creating. I would love to expand on helping others in this area too, but it will probably just be sprinkled in here and there on Logical Harmony.
If you could create a product, with any brand, what would that product be and with what brand?
Oh man. That's a tough one! It would be amazing to create products with some of my favorite brands! But if I had to pick just one? Right now, I'd have to say that I would love to create a highlighter with Au Naturale. Their highlighters are phenomenal and I would love to create my absolute perfect shade with them.
You work with a lot of different brands and get a lot of PR sent to you, what has been the most surprising and shocking package you've ever received?
There are so many sweet brands out there who have gone above and beyond! There isn't a specific package that I can think of - but I love the ones with extra touches like packets of greens powder, books, or other sweet personal touches.
Being vegan, people think it's difficult, tell us what your favorite vegan dish you've made so far, is?
I should probably say something healthy but... Buffalo cauliflower. Hands down. I could eat it every day.
Who are some of your favorite bloggers/writers and overall role models, who live the vegan and cruelty free lifestyle?
There are so many amazing people in this space! Rhian HY from Wife Life for obvious reasons. It's always good to have close friends who inspire you and motivate you while also being able to stuff their faces with Veggie Grill with you. Jackie from Vegan Yack Attack. Her blog is amazing, she's super sweet, her recipes are amazing, and she recently released a cookbook. Jessica Schlueter from The Tree Kisser too. She had this amazing vision for what she wanted from a clothing company and created it herself. It's been amazing to watch it grow! (all linked)
Do you ever think Logical Harmony could be your full time job and how would you feel if you had a LH logo on products?
It definitely could be. I already spend at least 35 hours a week on Logical Harmony on top of my full-time job. So the potential is there and I would love for it to be my full-time job. Creating content is a lot of fun, and I love doing all the research into companies, potential law changes around the world, policies around the world, etc.
I would also love to have an LH approved logo that brands could use! Brands request that all the time because a lot of them know how much it means to consumers, and readers request it even more often.
For those that aren't into crystals, tell them which one they should all own and why?
Selenite or fluorite. Both are visually very pretty, but also great for helping with a variety of things. Selenite is very neutralizing for negative energy and never needs to be cleansed. Fluorite is very "high vibe" and very balancing. I think everyone likely needs more balance in one way or another, and probably all needs less negativity around.
What were the last 5 songs you played?
Oh man. I'm honestly not 100% sure. I listen to my workout playlists a lot outside of working out because they can help change my energy. If not a workout playlist, then it's usually The Dandy Warhols, Chromeo, She & Him, No Doubt, or The Lonely Island.
I'll take a guess -
1. "To Myself" - Uplink
2. "My Way" - Calvin Harris
3. "Come Alive" - Chromeo
4. "Push and Shove" - No Doubt
5. "Sweet Nothing" - Calvin Harris
If you could live the life of a fictional character, who would that character be and why?
I honestly have no idea! I've been thinking about this one a lot and just can't pick one. (Since Tashina couldn't think of one, how about we choose which character she reminds us of!)
If the president in China requested you go meet with him about the cruelty free rules and regulations, what would run through your mind?
I would be terrified! Haha. It would be an amazing opportunity and my first thought would probably just be making sure all my ducks are in a row to help present the best information about why cruelty-free matters and connect him with the best organizations out there to help facilitate the changes.
Lastly, ask Justin to give us 5 words that he believes, describes you!
I asked him this without context to see exactly what he would say, "Intelligent, compassionate, ambitious, strong, authentic."
I truly admire Tashina and all that she does. She inspires so many, and has changed so many lives. Making crystal necklaces and having people connect within themselves on other levels, is just another reason she is so amazing. Always giving back.
I am a proud owner of 1 piece, but have another one on the way. I also got a crystal from her shop. Because of her, and her package, I have seriously connected to myself spiritually, in a level I never thought possible.
With that said, do you believe in crystals? If so, what's your favorite and why?
Lastly, what's on your Lightworker Crystal wishlist?
