Growing up with a mom that crocheted and embroidered things, I have always loved and been fascinated by what people can create. I actually used to crochet when I was younger, as I would sit on the couch with my mom and practice the technique. Growing up I gave up, but have continued to support people that have that talent. Especially my mom, she's really good.
With that said, I started noticing a lot of people were embroidering on canvas, and framing them. My tattoo artist featured Your Gothic Granny and I immediately followed and got a custom done by Rachel. Read More
We have all been there.....we wait until the VERY LAST MINUTE to make a purchase, or to finally buy something for our significant other either for their birthday, Christmas, or for instance, Valentine's Day. But do not fear, Melissa is here to help you!
I'm not someone who really celebrates the holiday, but I do love giving and receiving gifts. I'm also a fan of sales and discounts, and so many brands offer that, the week of. SSSOOO, what I'm saying here is that you can justify your gift being 'late' because you in turn, save money to buy MORE things. You see what I did there? You're welcome. Read More
Anyone that knows me, knows that I have a serious obsession with candles. Prior to being cruelty free, and even up until last year, I used to stock up on Bath & Body Work candles. Unfortunately, all the back and for with the company, I stopped buying from them. I began my search for soy candles, among the indie world.
The Burlap Bag randomly showed up, I don't even remember how, but I immediately fell in love with the packaging, naming and scents. I gifted one of these candles to my friend Nicole, and coincidentally, one of the cruelty free bloggers she followed ALSO supported this brand. We ended up getting our other cruelty free friend into the candles as well....so hopefully all 4 of us will encourage you to try them out!
While you contemplate your purchase, get to know Lindsay, the owner of The Burlap Bag. Read More
You guys should have expected I'd be writing a post about this, after it being mentioned on my 2016 favorites, and never being talked about prior, I figured it was time. The reason behind that is simple, I only got it in November, and had other posts planned. But with the new year, and my lack of posts lately, I wanted to finally talk about this set and the company in general. Read More
It's not a Melissa favorites, unless I mention nail polishes...and let's be honest, I'm a nail polish junkie. This year I really really REALLY got into the indie world, and I have never looked back. I have had the pleasure of getting you guys into certain brands, and getting to know the makers behind them. I have loved supporting so many brands and absolutely want to share my favorites throughout this past year.
All of these polishes, except one, are on my IG account, so please check there for swatches if you are curious on what they look like. Also, please note that a majority of these are no longer available, as in the indie polish world, you need to be quick on your feet with polish releases. I know it's probably a dick move on my part, because you won't be able to get it, but I still want to share my 16 favorites and the brands in general, so that you could get into them.
Here we goo....weeeeeeee. (all shops linked, some are currently closed) Read More
