Today I have the pleasure of featuring one of my favorite artists, Quyen Dinh of Parlor Tattoo Prints (shop linked). I know this isn't the typical Meet The Maker post, and that's because I want to venture out and continue to support the indie community with artists outside of just the beauty world.
Parlor Tattoo Prints combines 2 of my favorite things together (cult classics and tattoo art), and when I first stumbled upon her work, my shopping list was big. I've narrowed it down to 2 pieces, but my collection is definitely going to grow...it's only a matter of time.
I was stoked that Quyen was interested in being a part of the series, and hope you guys enjoy getting to know her. Read More
Breast Cancer Awareness Month has always been something I feel strongly about. Not just because I'm a female, with breasts, but for the many reasons so many people are willing to help. It's unfortunate that so many people struggle with this disease, and year after year, we lose so many lives to this battle. I remember watching the episode of 90210, where Brenda thinks she has breast cancer, and it ends up being nothing. And here we are now, years later, and Shannon Doherty, who played Brenda, does in fact have breast cancer. Isn't the universe weird?
I think too often we don't realize the struggle and battle those that have Breast Cancer, go through. Shannon Doherty has been such a great voice and advocate for this, showcasing her diagnoses, her shaved head, her Dr., her struggles. Her, along with many other advocates, brands and non profit organizations, have been making such a change. Read More
Thanks to the first maker that was featured on my site, Stefanie of Supernatural Lacquer, I was introduced to this amazing soap brand. I love that indie makers do that...they seriously support and advertise one another. If it wasn't for the indie community, I wouldn't know half of the brands that I do.
Coincidentally, the maker of Tarabusi Creeks Soap is also named Stephanie! If you didn't know, I'm a huge handmade soap lover. Once I started realizing all the nasty and hazardous chemicals companies put into their soaps, I steered away. I've been an avid handmade soap customer for some time now, and I'm happy to have Tarabusi Creeks Soap in my rotation! Just looks at how pretty these are.
Let's get to know the maker behind these gorgeous soaps! Read More
I don't typically want many things for my birthday, or in general. For the most part, when I want something, I typically buy it myself. So why make this post, you ask? Why not is a better question.
Just because I'm sharing my birthday wishlist doesn't mean I actually need any of this stuff, after all that's why it's called a 'wish' list. I have cut back on buying a lot. Especially on makeup. With the Meet The Maker series, I typically only buy for the site and with buying a new car, money has gotten tight.
With that said, there are moments that I try to treat myself. Birthday's are perfect for that.
So without further delay, here are the things currently on my wishlist. Read More
There's no way you don't know today's feature, and if you don't....you need to. Apoterra Skincare (linked) has been featured in Vogue, Elle, Allure, NYLON...just to name a few. As a known brand in the natural skincare world, this is one of the first brands I was introduced to when I chose to go natural and cruelty free.
It goes without saying that having Dominique featured today, is a dream come true. Not only is her brand and her products amazing, she's beyond lovely and eloquent. I am so ecstatic to have her be a part of this series.
I'd like you to meet Dominique of Apoterra Skincare! Read More
